Nautical designer max zhivov presents his latest project that aims to bring people closer to nature. The concept behind zhivov’s most recent creation is to design a vehicle that can travel across water, and in the process, transform any lake, fjord or bay, into the base of the hotel. The scheme integrates two elements, the ‘tiny house’ and the ‘houseboat‘, which are designed to function either separately or as a whole.

Measuring 4.5 x 3 meters, the tiny house part of the project provides space to accommodate up to 4 people and also includes a kitchen and toilet. The design by zhivov also provides a generous balcony, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy views over wherever it is situated. Tourists can choose to spend the night in the tiny house, before taking to the houseboat to enjoy a trip across the water and become immersed in nature.

The second part is the houseboat. Measuring 4.5 x 10 meters in total, the lower deck of the houseboat includes a large open space, a kitchenette and a toilet under the stairs. The upper deck has a natural coating of sand, grass, stones, and is designed for sunbathing. The houseboat is envisioned with sides of colored glass, creating an interesting filtered hue within the interior. Cleverly, the houseboat is also designed to be equipped with unmanned technology. By using smartphone technology, an application will allow people to choose their preferred destination on a map, and the boat will then travel autonomously. The silence of the electric motors lets guests get closer to nature and reduce the noise impact on benthonic organism.

In essence, the ‘tiny eco hotel’ aims to facilitate eco-tourism, by creating a design that enjoys the beauty of nature without causing harm to it.
